The Healthy Vein: Three Phases of Treatment

At The Healthy Vein, we provide comprehensive treatment for your venous insufficiency. We address the root of your vein problems with an in depth, comprehensive, and friendly Consultation and Ultrasound Mapping to look at your leg blood flow. We find the high pressure veins that cause problems, and then address the superficial areas of vein disease including varicose veins and spider veins.

Laser ablation right leg

Phase 1

Endovenous Laser Ablation

A gentle heat treatment to seal the high pressure, abnormal vein – commonly the Great Saphenous (inner thigh) or Small Saphenous (back of leg) vein

In the comfort of our office, our experienced board-certified Surgeon uses numbing medication to place a small IV to guide the laser. Laser heat seals the vein closed, forcing blood around the treated vein to healthy veins. The procedure takes approximately 90 minutes and you can return to work and normal daily activities right away.

Phase 2

Ambulatory Microphlebectomy

Removal of larger bulging varicose veins under local anesthesia through micro- incisions or needle holes.

Bulging varicose veins are removed through tiny needle holes using local numbing medication. The tiny openings heal with excellent results and minimal to no scarring.

Phase 3

Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy

Using ultrasound guidance, mid- sized vessels beneath the skin are injected with an FDA approved foam solution.

The ultrasound is used to identify mid sized veins that are deeper in the tissue. The veins are closed with an FDA-approved medication that irritates the lining of the vessel, causing it to close. Treatments take under an hour. You can return to work and normal daily activities right away.

Phase 4

Light-Guided Sclerotherapy

This final phase of treatment is designed to treat the feeding veins that may lighten and reduce the symptoms of visible veins. Light guidance or Transillumination is used to identify the feeding veins.

A bright Vein Light shows feeding veins under the surface that are closed with an injection using an FDA-approved medication, allowing visible veins to lighten and symptoms to improve. Treatments take less than 45 minutes. You can return to work and normal daily activities right away.
